Act 3 scene 2

Nym, Bardolph, Pistol and the Boy are holding back from the battle.

Fluellen enters and forces them to join the fight. The Boy remains, and he expresses his contempt for each of his three unworthy companions. He regards them as cowards and thieves. They have tried to train him to be a pickpocket, which he dislikes because he knows it is wrong. He decides to leave them and seek someone better to serve.

Analysis

After the heroics of the previous scene, this scene presents an immediate contrast. Here are three English soldiers who are not exactly in a hurry to get into the thick of the action.
