BOARD OF EDUCATION OF CITY OF NEW YORK 342 U.S. 485 (1952)Adler was one of the cases in which state statutes barring members of "subversive" organizations from public school and other public employment were upheld against FIRST AMENDMENT attack on the basis that public employment is a privilege not a right.
