Damian, John ("Master John") (ca. 1500)
Alchemist who first appeared at the court of James IV, king of Scotland, as a surgeon around 1500. He was originally from Lombardy and practiced surgery in France. He was also employed by James in the practice of alchemy and was later appointed abbot of Tungland in Galloway, Scotland.
