Kabir (ca. 1440-1518)One of the most celebrated mystics of fifteenth-to sixteenth-century India, who practiced yoga and attempted to reconcile Hindus and Moslems. After his death he was claimed by both religions. Kabir's inspirational hymns are very moving and are still popular in present-day India.
