Napper (or Napier), Richard (1559-1634)British astrologer and doctor of medicine of Great Linford, Buckinghamshire. He attended Oxford University, but never got a degree, and in 1589 was ordained and admitted to the rectory of Great Linford, a position he held for 44 years. He was a pupil of astrologer Simon Forman (1552-1611) and, according to William Lilly (1602-1681), "outwent Forman in physic and holiness of life, cured the falling-sickness perfectly by constellated rings, and some diseases by amulets."
