Act 3, Scene 7: Helena reveals
herself to the Widow and comes up with a plan to get Bertram's ring, and to have him bed her.
She wants Diana to request the ring from him as a token of his love, and then to set up an assignation
time in which Helena will take Diana's place. The Widow at first is doubtful, but then recants
and Helena offers to give Diana three thousand crowns for the deception.
Act 4, Scene 1: The French Lords
gather a force of men and capture Parolles while he trying to figure out how to make it look like he
tried to get the drum. The men blindfold him so he does not know who they are, and promise not
to kill him if he reveals all of the Florintine secrets. Parolles agrees, and the Lords send someone
to fetch Bertram so he can hear his friend's confession.
