Volume 1, Chapter 19: The next morning arrives, Pip's mixed feelings have disappeared, and he does not know how he was going to wait through the six days he had left.  Later that day he went for a walk on the marshes and fell asleep thinking of Estella and Miss Havisham's plans for him.  He awoke to find Joe sitting beside him, and they talked of Joe's lessons and Pip wishes that Joe had more learning so that he too, could elevate his station in life.  Pip tells this desire to Biddy and she becomes angry with him.  The next morning, Pip went to have his new clothes made by the town tailor, Mr. Trabb.  After visiting the tailor, he then goes to Uncle Plumbchook's house where he is congratulated.  Uncle Pumblechook during the conversation if Pip would like to take some of his new fortune and invest it in his business, but Pip declines.  When his clothing is finished, he goes to visit Miss Havisham one last time.  She is surprised and happy to see him, and hear of his good fortune.  They parted and Pip went home, excited and apprehensive that he would leave the next morning.  When the morning finally came, Pip slept late he eats a very quick breakfast that Biddy made him, and took very short hurried good-byes.  As he walked away swiftly from the house, he cried and considered going back home.  But he got on the coach and left. 

Volume 2, Chapter 1: Pip arrives in London and goes directly to Mr. Jaggers's office.  The office is filled with clients and Pip watches while Mr. Jaggers disposes of them quickly.  Mr. Jaggers is impatient, and quick to cut people off.  After Pip receives his allowance and instruction on how to get to Matthew Pockets house, Wemmick who is one of Mr. Jaggers's clerks escorts him there. 

Volume 2, Chapter 2: When they reach the Inn, which turns out to be rather shabby, Mr. Pocket junior is out which forces Pip to wait for him.  When he finally returns, he apologizes profusely about making him wait.  After looking closely at each other, it occurs to Pip that Mr. Pocket junior was the pale headed boy that he had beat up a long time before.
