Volume 2, Chapter 12-Volume 2, Chapter 14

Volume 2, Chapter 12: Pip and Herbert watch the play, which turns out to be quite bad, and in attempts to miss Mr. Wopsle, they leave right after it.  At the door, a man named Mr. Waldengarver stops them and asks them to come backstage and meet with Mr. Wopsle.  They agree and when they reach the dressing room, they congratulate the actors on the performance.  Pip invites Wopsle back to their place for dinner, and they go.  Late into the night Pip goes to bed but is miserable thinking of Estella and his expectations.
Volume 2, Chapter 13:
Pip receives word from Estella that she will be arriving the next day on a coach and that he should meet her at the station.  Pip, excited and apprehensions, arrives hours too early for the coach.  While he is waiting, he runs into Wemmick who asks him if he would like to accompany him to Newgate, the jail.  With so much time to waste, Pip agrees and accompanies him.  They go and visit several people in the jail, but the main one is a Colonel who will be executed the following Monday.  Wemmick convinces the Colonel to have two pigeons sent to him and he and Pip leaves.  They part at the station, as Pip waits again for Estella.  When her coach arrives, Pip feels a momentary sense of uneasiness. 
Volume 2, Chapter 14: Estella tells Pip that he is to escort her to Richmond to the family she will be staying with.  He assents to this, and takes to get her some tea before their trip.  As they are drinking tea, she tells him of the plans they have for her, and that he is to visit her often in Richmond.  Estella also tells him how much that Miss Havisham's relatives hate him, but that it does not matter.  Pip takes her hand and kisses it and she laughs and asks him if he will not take warning.  They talk of the time he kissed her cheek and she permits him to kiss it again.  The kiss is fleeting and Pip again feels bereft because she acts as if they are but puppets in someone else's hands.  Pip takes her to Richmond, drops her off at her new home, and as he rides home is consumed with longing and heartache.
