The tale of Meleibeus
A man named Meleibus and his wife, Prudence, had a daughter named Sophie. When Meleibus was out of town, bandits entered his house and beat up his wife and daughter. Meleibus wanted to punish the men harshly and violently, but his wife asked that he take a more prudent course. Meleibus feels insulted that his wife is giving him advice, but she defends her right to give advice, using many examples. Meleibus gives in and accepts his wife's advice, and her course of action proves to be the best thing, and both Meleibus and the bandits forgive each other in a truce.
