Author's Valediction

Chaucer, tongue-in-cheek, asks for an apology from his readers and from God for his mistakes, mistranslations of reference works, and he lists some of the works that he borrowed from. He also invokes the more religious texts that he borrowed from, and asks forgiveness for his more obscene tales.
