Katherine, Petruchio, and Hortensio are riding to Padua when Katherine and Petruchio begin arguing about the time of day.  Petruchio threatens Katherine to go back home if she doesn't agree with him.  Knowing that she will get food at her sisters, she assents and agrees with his statement that it was the moon not the sun that was lighting the midday sky.  While on their way, the trio runs into the real Vincentio who is traveling to Padua to find his son.  They all agree to go together.
